Philips Lumea uses an innovative light-based technology called IPL, derived from the technology used in professional beauty salons.
Gentle pulses of light are applied that put the hair into the resting phase. These hairs naturally shed in the 1-2 weeks post treatment and further regrowth is inhibited, leaving you with silky smooth skin.
Removes hair on face (upper lip, chin and sideburns) and body including legs, underarm, belly and arms.

Use With Confidence
Philips Lumea works effectively on (naturally) dark blonde, brown and black hairs. As with other light-based treatments, Philips Lumea is not effective on red, light-blonde or white/grey hair. Philips Lumea is also not suitable for dark skin.
For extra safety the integrated skin tone sensor measures the treated skin complexion at the beginning of each session and occasionally during the session. If it detects a skin tone that is too dark for this product it will automatically stop emitting pulses.
Philips is suitable for those with skin type I to IV according to the Fitzpatrick Scale. It is not suitable for use on blonde, white, grey or red hair.
Since light blonde, grey and white hair do not contain enough or any melanin, IPL treatment will never work on these hair colours. Red hair contains a different type of melanin, which is also not responsive to IPL.
Philips Lumea is also not suitable for dark skin tones, as it can cause skin damage such as burns, blisters or discolouring.
